ISTEP Really Neccessary?

Can anyone think of another way to evaluate students? (id est: Besides ISTEP) I've heard a lot about it, but I just began to wonder what you guys thought.

School's Out!

I know, school's been out for a long time now, and I was just wondering how everyone's break is going so far! Are you guys ready to go back to school yet?

Library Closing Protest

The library closing protest went well! Shortridge was well-represented, and we had a blast! One of us actually made the news speaking! We are all so proud! We did a great job guys, congrats!

Band Updates

The Spring Concert was yesterday, and the theme was 'A Night At the Movies'.In order the following groups played: Beggining Band, playing when the Band Goes Marching In, Intermediate Band, playing Raider's March (Indiana Jones Theme), Will You be There (Free Willy Theme), and Jurassic Park, the Advanced band, Lean on Me, Pink Panther, I'm a Believer, Orchestra, The Addam's Family, and the Drumline, who played cadences, very few of which people will be familiar with anyway. :) NOTE: I do not know the name of EVERY song, so I did not list them all.

Also, the band will be having a carnival, Ridge Fest, after school this Friday. All band members must work for at least 1 hour. Afterwards, there will be a drumline battle.

Short Week

Did this week seem as short for anyone else as it did to me, or am I just crazy??? Well, I mean, I know I'm crazy, but my point is: Was this week as short for anyone else as it was for me? It may be Friday but it feels like a Monday afternoon.
NOTE: Totally irrelevant but DRUMLINE TOMMORROW AT 8:OO a.m!!! ALL DRUMLINE MEMBERS be there!!! If you don't 8p- ppppppppp! *turns back on those who refuse to come after giving them a dirty look*

ART AND POETRY CONTEST

The Daily Echo, our school newspaper is STILL holding a contest for literary and visual arts. We will accept all forms of writing, or visual art.

Seventh grade is having a field day to end the school year, and I wanted to hear some suggestions from you guys!!! My question for you guys is this: What are some suggestions you have for field day?

We are all hanging by a thread here, guys. We need to watch ourselves, and pay careful attention to what Mr. Cosby said. We should make sure our actions correspond with what he told us.
